Wmo stands for Social Support Act. This law ensures that you can continue to live independently for as long as possible, perhaps with Health and support you need. Before you can get help, the municipality first looks at what you can still do yourself, with the help of family, friends and neighbors. If this turns out not to be possible, they will look at whether general facilities are the solution. Only then will we look at a customized facility.

General facilities

General facilities are facilities that anyone, without indication, can use. For example:

  • a cleaning service;
  • a laundry/dry cleaning service;
  • a supermarket's grocery delivery service;
  • the restaurant of a nursing home where local residents can eat for a small fee.

If that fails, you can use support from the Wmo. These are customized facilities.

Customized services

Customized services are services that are tailored entirely to the client. In other words, to you. For example:

  • day care;
  • household support;
  • transport facilities.

Own contribution

The municipality charges a co-payment for customized services. You must then pay part of the costs yourself. There is a maximum amount of € 20.60 per month. You will automatically receive a message from CAK (Central Administrative Office), which calculates the personal contribution. You can calculate the contribution yourself on the CAK website .

Personal budget (PGB).

A PGB is an amount of money you receive to provide a customized service according to your wishes. The municipality does not pay the PGB to you, but pays it into the account of the Social Insurance Bank's PGB service center. More information can be found at PGB.

Informal care support

As a caregiver, you voluntarily care for your partner, parent, child, friend or neighbor who needs help. You do not have to do this alone. Certainly not if it becomes too heavy for you. More information can be found on the page requesting support for volunteer caregivers.

Personal care and nursing

Not all help and Health is covered by the municipality. Personal care (such as help with washing and dressing) and nursing care provided by home care, for example. These fall under the Health Insurance Act. For this you can contact your health insurance company.

Senior housing

Registering for senior housing is not covered by the Wmo. In Geldrop you can do this at the housing associations Wooninc, and Woonbedrijf, in Mierlo you can do this at Compaen.

WMO Advisory Council

The Wmo Council consists of representatives and advocates of residents who use the Wmo. The Wmo Council has an important goal: to critically monitor and influence the operation of the Wmo in practice.

Compulsory Mental Health Care Act (Wvggz).

Please report your concerns!

It may just happen that you are dealing with someone who has problems or exhibits confused behavior and does not ask for help himself. Or perhaps someone is causing a nuisance and you suspect that more is going on. It is important to report this before the situation becomes serious. The person involved can then get help as soon as possible. Are you concerned? Do you think this person needs urgent compulsory psychological help? If so, you can file a report under the Compulsory Mental Health Care Act (Wvggz). The hotline works together with care providers, police, district teams, the Safety House and the family or environment to find a solution

Where can you file a report?

The Special Health team of GGD Brabant-Zuidoost works in the municipalities of Best, Cranendonck, Eindhoven, Geldrop-Mierlo, Heeze-Leende, Nuenen, Oirschot and Son en Breugel. For a report, you can call 088 0031 101 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., or e-mail to: bijzonderezorg@ggdbzo.nl. Or fill out a report form at www.melduwzorgen.nl.
Is there acute danger? If so, always call 112!

Notification and then?

After your report, staff from the GGD's Special Health team will make an assessment of whether the person is likely to cause serious harm to himself or others, and whether a psychiatric disorder is involved, and will investigate whether and what help is needed. Where necessary, he consults with family or other relatives or other caregivers involved. If help is needed, the staff member tries to use voluntary help. Only if there is no other way is compulsory Health requested. If the staff member assesses that it is necessary to use compulsory help, a care authorization is requested from the judge through the public prosecutor. The judge ultimately decides whether mandatory Health is deployed. Compulsory Health is very invasive for the person involved. It is used only when there is no other option. Compulsory Health does not mean that the person concerned is always hospitalized; Health may also be used at home.

As a reporter, will you receive information about the exploratory investigation?

Are you a close family member and closely related to the person involved? Then you will hear from us within 14 days the outcome of any exploratory investigation. If you disagree with the outcome, you have the legal right to demand that the public prosecutor still investigate the case. If you are not a close family member of the person involved, we cannot inform you of the outcome according to the AVG (Privacy Act).
