Reconstruction Heron Street

The sewers in the Reigerstraat are in need of replacement. Gemeente Geldrop-Mierlo and contractor Gebr. van den Berk plan to carry out this work from Monday, April 28 through June 27. During the work, Reigerstraat will be completely closed and the homes will only be accessible on foot. Parking of cars in the street is not possible and you are requested to park elsewhere in the neighborhood. Collection services will also not be able to enter Reiger Street. The request is to deposit your garbage in the Kievitstraat and on the Nuenenseweg.

What are we going to do?

We will begin by breaking up the current pavement. The sidewalks will remain at minimum width to keep the homes accessible. After this, wells will be installed to temporarily lower the groundwater level for the work. Next, the old sewer will be removed and the new sewer will be installed. There will be a separate sewer system for wastewater and rainwater. There will be an infiltration sewer for rainwater so that the water can be drawn into the soil where it falls. When the sewer work is completed, Reigerstraat will be redesigned with parking spaces on both sides. Green spaces are even being considered.

Nuisance

Naturally, there will be inconvenience due to this work. However, we are doing everything we can to keep this to a minimum. By closing the entire roadway at once and not working in phases, this ensures that implementation can go much faster and therefore there is less inconvenience.
