Monitoring businesses, storage locations and garage boxes

The Dommelstroom Intervention Team (DIT) carried out administrative checks today at some companies in the industrial area de Spaarpot and private storage locations in a residential area. The Dommelstroom Intervention Team is a collaboration between several partners of which the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo is also part. In this case, the municipality visited several locations in Geldrop together with the Safety Region, the Environment Service and the police. 

The inspection focused on compliance with the applicable laws and regulations. The purpose of these checks is to increase the liveability and safety in the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo by carrying out this check together with other participating partners, there is talk of integral supervision. In this way, if necessary, one visit can be used to take direct action against various violations.

The users and/or owners cooperated fully with the inspections. Fire safety deficiencies were found during the inspections.

Business owners and/or owners will soon receive letters on how to put the situations in order. In the future, unannounced inspections will be carried out again.

About the Dommelstroom Intervention Team

The DIT plays an important role in the integrated approach to enforcement bottlenecks and undermining crime. Under the direction of the DIT, regular inspections take place at premises and locations suspected of not complying with laws and regulations. Among other things, the team looks at fire safety, bookkeeping, illegal occupancy, permits, registration in the Basic Registration of Persons, human trafficking, prostitution, drugs, social security fraud and other violations.
