In the coming period, construction company Van Gerven will further develop the plan in consultation with the municipality and HC Mierlo and it will become clear when the new club building can be delivered. Alderman Peter Looijmans: 'We have talked for a long time about a new club building for HC Mierlo and, together with many others, have put energy into it. We have now reached the point where a nice company from Mierlo will realize the new club building. This is important because we value sports in our municipality. Moreover, this success again shows how strong club life is in our municipality and how involved all the volunteers who are active in club activities are.

Construction company Van Gerven's plan best met the criteria we had established in advance for the realization of the new club building. Thus, the plan of construction company Van Gerven met the tender price and also received higher marks on many other criteria. These criteria had to do with spatial quality, functionality, sustainability and the plan of action for the realization of the building. Director Erwin van Lieshout is proud that his company, which is located a stone's throw from HC Mierlo, is allowed to do the job: "We are a family business and are in the middle of the Geldrop-Mierlo society. We are very excited to be able to build a new club building for this wonderful club in our municipality.

Carla van Velden of HC Mierlo is happy with another new step

Located on sports park 't Oudven, HC Mierlo's club building dates back to 1985 and is in urgent need of replacement. Since 2017, the club has been in talks with the municipality about a new accommodation. Carla van Velden, president of HC Mierlo is happy with yet another step in the right direction: 'It's great to follow how our new clubhouse is going to grow next season and become a wonderful place for our members to get together but also to be able to receive our guests in decent changing rooms.'
