A study of rural renewal in Gijzenrooi was conducted as early as 1996. That survey was updated in 2014. The reports of both studies can be found below. In addition, an intern from the HAS conducted a study in 2021 on the future prospects of Gijzenrooi. The results of that study can also be found below.

The City Council had a council information letter in September 2021 about the start of the area process in Gijzenrooi. In February 2022, the City Council was further informed about this during an information evening. The presentation given then and the council information letter can be viewed below.
