The City Council has underscored residential happiness for Geldrop-Mierlo. During the council meeting on Feb. 24, the city council adopted the "Vision Geldrop-Mierlo 2044. In this vision of the future, Geldrop-Mierlo goes for residential happiness where broad prosperity is the main starting point. The vision not only helps us as a municipality, but is also helpful for initiators of new developments. With a clear picture in mind, we can continue to build together on the future of Geldrop-Mierlo.
Connected, vibrant and green
With all the challenges facing our region, in 2044 Geldrop-Mierlo is still that fine residential municipality where connection is key. Within the municipalities, but also with other municipalities in the Brainport region. You can then describe Geldrop-Mierlo as a green recreational residential community with urban traits and village-like conviviality. It is pleasant to live in Geldrop-Mierlo, because the connection between people is tight. The neighbourhoods and the centers are lively and there is a lot of green in the neighbourhoods and the countryside.
Broad prosperity as main premise
To achieve residential happiness, broad prosperity is the main premise. New plans are examined to see if this fits the future image of the municipality. After all, Geldrop-Mierlo is about well-being, and accessibility, for everyone. Economic growth is important, but as a precondition. More important are good living conditions, good availability of facilities, strong social connections and sustainability. The level of facilities must develop along with the number of residents and social changes. The needs of residents change over time and the facilities must continue to meet those needs.
