Housing Association
Registering as a housing seeker
If you are looking for a rental property, you can register as a housing seeker. You will then have a chance of finding a social rental home. This housing is mainly for people up to a certain income. If you earn more, you are not entitled to this. You can then look for rentals from brokers or private rentals (not through a housing association or housing corporation).
Are you 18 years of age or older? And are you Dutch or have a valid residence status? Then you can register with housing corporations that take care of the distribution of social housing. In Geldrop these are housing associations Woonbedrijf and Wooninc. and in Mierlo this is housing association Compaen. There are sometimes additional costs associated with registering.
Temporary contract young people
Temporary contracts exist for young people. Young people between the ages of 18 and 28 can get a five-year lease. However, the housing must be specifically for young people. Read more on the Woonbond website . On the website of theRijksoverheid contains information about social housing for rent.
