Addiction
There are different types of addiction. Think of being addicted to alcohol, drugs, gambling or gaming. We talk about an addiction when you cannot do without a substance or habit. You want to stop, but you can't. You pay less attention to your work or your environment. For example, you continue to use drugs even though they cause you (money) problems. You need more and more of it. If you don't use it you get withdrawal symptoms, such as anxiety, bad sleep, little peace in your body or anger.
