Parking in the blue zone

What is it?

In a blue zone, you may not park for long periods of time. If you want to park in a blue zone, you are required to use a parking disc.

If you live or work in this area and want to park longer in the blue zone, you can request an exemption from the municipality.

What to do.

Apply for a waiver?

Make an appointment

You pass on:

  • the valid registration number of the vehicle
  • why you need the waiver
  • where you want to park
  • when you want to park there
  • what time you want to park there

How does it work?

You can apply for a waiver if:

  • You have a business or you live in a blue zone, or immediately adjacent to it
  • You do not have a private parking space, such as a driveway, carport or garage
  • You are applying for the waiver for a motor vehicle with more than two wheels, such as a car.
  • The Board of B&W has designated that part of the blue zone as an option for granting waivers.

How long does it take?

The municipality decides within 8 weeks of receiving your application. The municipality may extend this period once.

Additional information

You can object to the decision on your application. Do this within 6 weeks.

After that, do you disagree with the ruling on the appeal? Then appeal to the court.
