You can get stickers for your mailbox from the municipality. These stickers state what advertising you do or do not want to receive. This is mail that does not have your address on it. For example, advertising flyers and free local papers.

If you also don't want to receive advertising that does include your address, you can unsubscribe from the Stichting Postfilter.

YES YES sticker

Starting September 1, 2022, the municipality will use YES - YES sticker. The purpose of the YES - YES sticker is to reduce the amount of waste paper. As a result, fewer trees need to be cut down. This is better for the environment. You can pick up the YES - YES sticker for free at the municipality.

New situation

Would you like to continue receiving advertising and door-to-door magazines? Then place a YES - YES sticker on your mailbox.
You don't want to receive advertising, but you do want to receive door-to-door magazines? Then in principle you do not need a sticker on your mailbox. Even homes with a NO - YES sticker on the mailbox do not receive advertising, but do receive door-to-door magazines.
If you put a NO - NO sticker on your mailbox, you will not receive advertising and door-to-door magazines.

Digital alternatives

Many advertising flyers today are also available digitally through the provider's website or through collection websites where flyers from different brands are collected. This allows you to continue viewing the leaflets without the paper waste.
