Temporary housing

To build the new school, the Lower Beekloop will be temporarily housed in makeshift classrooms. These will be placed on the lawn directly adjacent to the school. They are expected to be placed in June 2025. From August 2025, the students of Beneden Beekloop will attend school here and the neighborhood association Hulst-Skandia will rent two classrooms for neighborhood activities. In addition, child care center Potje Knor will place a unit. So that the children of Potje Knor can come here in August 2025. 

Once the temporary housing is in use, we can start demolishing the old school building. And removing the emergency rooms behind the school building. The Map below shows where the temporary housing will be placed. 

Temporary construction road

For the delivery of materials, it is important to create as little inconvenience to the neighborhood as possible. Therefore, it has been decided to construct a temporary construction road for all major construction traffic. This will remain in place for the construction of the temporary housing and for the construction of the new building. This temporary construction road will be located next to Beemdstraat.

In addition, we also make arrangements with all parties to make as much allowance as possible for drop-off and pick-up times of children during school hours so that there is as little inconvenience as possible to the students, the school and nearby residents.

The road is for construction traffic only. Parents dropping off children by car will use a temporary parking lot. Below is the situation of the temporary construction road.

New design 

We want to create a safe school environment by designing the public space according to Sustainable Safety. We find it important that the environment radiates safety, accessibility and livability. We do this by, among other things, providing sufficient parking space and designing the area mainly for slow traffic in the vicinity of the school. 

New play facility 

After the new school building and its associated public space are completed, we will start work on the play facility. In the new situation, this will be above the proposed parking lot. For this we will talk to the neighborhood and ask them to contribute to the design.
