Monument remodeling, repair or maintenance
What is it?
Do you own a monument? And do you want to rebuild, repair, modify or demolish this monument? Then you usually need an environmental permit.
For ordinary maintenance, you do not need to apply for a permit (where the appearance of the interior or exterior of the property does not change). Such as keeping paintwork in the same color or minor repairs using the original materials.
How does it work?
This is how you apply for an environmental permit for a monument:
Go to the Environment Counter online
- Complete the permit check
- You can then apply for the permit immediately
- You may need the following pieces:
- a construction report or a cultural history report;
- a construction specification;
- photos;
- a situation sketch;
- A brief description of the building to be demolished;
- A drawing of the building with the dimensions (for example, an old construction drawing).
Municipal monuments are subject to the 2019 Heritage Ordinance.
Under that regulation, building or renovating a monument or building near a monument also requires an environmental permit (environmental permit for a monument activity).
Sometimes a modest contribution is possible for the maintenance of a municipal monument.This is subject to very strict Requirements. See the 'Beleidsregel Bijdrage gemeentelijke monumenten Geldrop-Mierlo 2014, 1e wijziging' .
What does it cost?
You pay a fee for applying for an environmental permit. More information can be found under the product environmental permit.
