High turnout information meeting Eeneind-West Nuenen
Earlier this week, Citizens Committee Distribution CenterNo organized an information meeting on the Nuenen municipality's plan to allow three large-scale distribution centers on Eeneind-West. The turnout at De Weeffabriek in Geldrop was high. Many residents from our municipality and some from Nuenen are very concerned. This was evidenced earlier by the more than 1,500 views submitted against the granting of a permit to build these centers. Alderman Frans Stravers was present at the invitation of the citizens' committee to explain the views submitted by the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo. 'It is five to twelve. The decision of the college of the municipality of Nuenen can be announced any moment and we expect that the college of Nuenen will grant the permit for the construction of these centers despite the many views. However, we still hope that the college of B&W of the municipality of Nuenen will make a wise decision. After all, building these centers at that location will cause an enormous increase in (freight) traffic in our municipality and in Nuenen, with all its consequences. Moreover, the air quality will deteriorate.'
The decision that the college of B&W of the municipality of Nuenen will take on this matter will be published on Overheid.nl and the digital municipal gazette of Nuenen.
If the Nuenen Municipal Executive disregards all views and grants a permit anyway, interested parties and also non-interested parties who did submit views can go to court.
