Geldrop-Mierlo consists of strong and vital neighborhoods, districts and streets. Districts where people feel safe and where the quality of the living environment is perceived as positive. We would like to achieve this together with you, the inhabitants of Geldrop-Mierlo. The municipality helps by offering support in finding solutions to questions you as a resident encounter in your daily life.

The Area Director: Your point of contact in the neighborhood

The area directors are the eyes and ears in the neighborhood. They are the recognizable point of contact for residents and are happy to help with ideas and initiatives. What do the area directors do?

  • Connection: They connect and support residents to implement ideas together.
  • Thinking along: They think along with residents and community organizations.
  • Initiatives: They take their own initiatives to make improvements.
  • Active contribution: They encourage residents to actively contribute to their environment.

The area directors are not there for a crooked sidewalk tile or a field that is not neatly mowed. For these issues, you can make a public space report.

Who are the area directors?

There are currently four area directors working in our neighborhoods. Can't make it to the area director's workplace in your neighborhood? No problem! You are also welcome at other locations. For questions or more information, send an e-mail to the joint e-mail address of the area directors: gebiedsregisseurs@geldrop-mierlo.nl.

Think along and work together

Do you have a good idea for your neighborhood? Together with the municipality, you can make your neighborhood even more pleasant. Think about:

  • Improving contacts in the neighborhood
  • Countering loneliness
  • Setting up neighborhood prevention
  • Organizing cleanup events
  • Neighborhood or sports activities for children and the elderly

There are many possibilities! Contact one of the area directors if you have an idea or initiative. They can be found weekly at various locations in the neighborhood. Feel free to stop by with your questions or ideas!

Grant for community activities

The municipality gives grants to local residents to organize a neighborhood, street or district activity. By organizing activities, residents get to know each other better. This improves the quality of life in your neighborhood or street. People talk to each other more easily, pay more attention to each other and want to do more for each other.

We always advise you to contact the area director in your neighborhood to discuss your plans in advance. They can support you in the organization.

Grant application

Read the Requirements grant for neighborhood, and street activities Geldrop-Mierlo. In it, see if you meet all Requirements and review criteria.

You must apply for the grant yourself at least six weeks before the activity takes place.

Eligible for a contribution are:

  • representatives of a neighborhood prevention project;
  • the board of a neighborhood association;
  • the board of a neighborhood association;
  • an idea of an individual resident supported by a large number of local residents.

If you meet the Requirements for the neighborhood or street activity grant, please complete the digital form using the link below. When doing so, choose the "street or neighborhood activity" option.

Applying for a neighborhood or street activity grant

Once the municipality has received all the information, we will start working on the application. We will make a decision on your application within 13 weeks. A maximum of one application per calendar year can be submitted per location.

Please note that you must provide notification of the event. Also check if you need an event permit.
