Drug property Bogardeind closed
Today the municipality closed a residence at the Bogardeind in Geldrop for 4 months. The reason for this is an investigation in the house, during which large amounts of hard- and soft drugs were found. The investigation by the police showed that the quantities were larger than for personal use.
Damocles policy
The decision was made under the so-called Damocles policy. Houses in which drugs are used, traded and/or produced often cause a nuisance to the residential environment and attract criminal persons. The measure should contribute to the reduction of drug crime and thus increase the safety and livability in society.
Passing signals
To alert residents to the possible presence of drug facilities in their neighborhoods, the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo distributed a flyer in the neighborhood containing the signs to watch out for and how to report drug crimes.
Drug trafficking and production seems like a way to make a quick buck. A chance to make a financial hit or get out of debt. But appearances can be deceiving. Many people actually end up (further) in financial trouble as a result. Also, the production and/or trade of drugs often causes nuisance, makes the neighborhood unsafe and attracts criminals. Thanks in part to (anonymous) reports, drug premises are identified.
