Waste collection around the holidays
Every year with the holidays, we see a spike when it comes to the amount of garbage offered. With the holidays approaching, we would like to ask for your cooperation for a smooth collection of garbage. This way we can also keep your neighborhood tidy together.
Gray and green bins and waste paper and cardboard
On Christmas Day and Boxing Day (Wednesday, December 25 and Thursday, December 26) and New Year's Day (Wednesday, January 1), Cure does not collect waste. Is your residual waste or VGF container normally emptied on Wednesday or Thursday? Or do we normally collect the waste paper and cardboard on one of those days? Check the waste calendar to see what the next regular collection day is. Note: this may be a different day.
Underground and above-ground containers
Due to the large volume of waste, we expect the underground and aboveground waste containers for glass, waste paper and residual waste to fill up sooner. Cure will therefore empty the containers more often around the holidays. In this way, we want to prevent additional waste from being placed next to the containers. We also ask for your help:
- Always put the garbage ín the container. Is the container full? Then take the bag back home and store it in your storage room, for example.
- Are there already bags next to it? Check anyway to see if the bag can fit in a container. Also try the other containers for the same waste.
- Never put trash next to the dumpster; trash does not belong on the street.
- Lots of boxes of Christmas gifts and packages? "Crush your package," or flatten boxes before they go into the dumpster.
- Don't bring your glass to the bottle bank on Jan. 1, but rather wait a few days.
Environmental street
The environmental street is closed on December 25 and 26 and January 1. On December 24 and 31, the environmental street and customer service close at 4 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: Starting in December, the winter schedule will resume.
Frequency green waste
From December through February, the GFT-E (vegetable, fruit, garden and food waste) garbage will be collected once every four weeks. In March 2025, we will go back to the normal frequency, once every two weeks.
Cure opening hours around the holidays
Customer service will not be available by phone on December 25 and 26 and January 1. However, you can make a report via the contact form or at lantenservice@cure-afvalbeheer.nl
